Murky Waters: Selling a Human Right

Explore ways to provide your skills and create groundbreaking change with UUSC program partner El Movimiento Mi Cometa, as they document over 158 cases of hepatitis-A infection among schoolchildren in Guayaquil, Ecuador’s largest city. Support their efforts as they collect evidence through interviews with community members, collect water samples, and work to enshrine the human right to water in the national constitution.

Building a Firm and Lasting Peace One Step at a Time
Guatemala, February 23 - March 2, 2009

On this journey, you will travel to north-central Guatemala to learn firsthand how indigenous communities have organized under the leadership of UUSC program partners ADIVIMA and the Association for Justice and Reconciliation (AJR). Despite enormous odds, they are succeeding in holding Guatemala’s former military officials accountable for genocide and crimes against humanity committed in the 1980s.
