Reverend Billy helps Mass. church raise funds for hurricane relief fund

Reverend Billy and his Church of Stop Shopping Choir performed to an overflow audience September 11, 2005, at the First Parish, Unitarian Universalist Church, Bedford, Mass. The special benefit raised more than $4,000 for the UUA-UUSC Gulf Coast Relief Fund.

Rev. John Gibbons, minister of First Parish and a UUSC Board of Trustees member, said an enthusiastic crowd of about 300 filled the church sanctuary for the Sunday evening performance.

"Anytime the encore is a rousing version of the First Amendment with the audience on its feet hooting and hollering, you know you’ve experienced something unique," said Rev. Gibbons.
