UUSC President William F. Schulz testifies at a hearing before the congressional Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission in Washington, D.C.

On Thursday, March 3, UUSC President William F. Schulz testified at a public hearing before the congressional Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission [PDF] in Washington, D.C., with Catarina de Albuquerque, the U.N. independent expert on the human right to water and sanitation. The hearing was one of de Albuquerque's last stops on her mission to the United States

The Realizing the Right to Safe Water and Sanitation hearing, sponsored by cochairs Rep. James McGovern (D-MA) and Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA), was heard by a packed house of staffers, representatives of nongovernmental organizations, and citizens concerned about the human right to water.
