In Support of a Commission of Inquiry to Investigate U.S. Torture Policies and Practices

UUSC signed onto a statement that a Commission of Inquiry would investigate the torture
policies and practices of the U.S. since September 11 and would
make recommendations about the needed safeguards. The statement describes why a
Commission of Inquiry is needed & emphasizes the need for an investigation.
The possibility of prosecutions is an issue that will be addressed according to
the dictates of U.S. law - but it will not be a focus
of this Commission.
