Environmental Justice
The Asian Pacific Research Network
is in the leadership of the People's Movement on Climate Change and has
sponsored research and organizing, in part with UUSC support, for the People's
Protocol on Climate Change, which UUSC has signed on to.
Purpose
The purpose of this
action was to support the request of the People's Movement on Climate Change. "The People's
Protocol on Climate Change affirms the need for a movement for climate justice
that calls for real solutions to the climate crisis — the reversal of
neoliberal globalization, and the restoration of people's sovereignty over
resources, economies, and institutions. And as with other injustices, the
climate crisis and its roots can only be dealt with through political struggles
by the people."
