To Urge Increased Funding for the Senator Paul Simon Water for the Poor Act
Date this position was adopted by UUSC:
Wednesday, May 20, 2009
UUSC signed on to a letter urging Congress to increase funding for clean drinking water and adequate sanitation internationally.
Specifically, we asked that Congress continue implementing the Senator Paul Simon Water for the Poor Act (WFTPA) by increasing funding for clean drinking water and adequate sanitation to $500 million for FY2010. This increase should be part of an overall increase in U.S. development assistance for poverty alleviation worldwide.
