Rallies in Washington, San Francisco to end Darfur genocide
With the genocide continuing in Darfur, UUSC is joining with other human rights organizations to raise public awareness of what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. UUSC President Charlie Clements will be a featured speaker at the San Francisco Day of Conscience for Darfur.

Million Voices for Darfur campaign
UUSC and the Save Darfur Coalition are collecting one million postcards signed by activists and addressed to President Bush demanding a stronger and more effective U.S. response to the genocide in Darfur.

Sign a postcard online, or order postcards to distribute in your church and community.

Urge Congress to support immigrants' rights
The debate over immigration reform is taking center stage on Capitol Hill as competing legislation divides policymakers across partisan lines. The House has passed a tough anti-immigrant measure that emphasizes tight border controls and the criminalization of immigrant status. The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved a bill that would create a temporary guest worker program and a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

Urge your elected Congress members and to adopt humane immigration reform legislation.

Deadline nears for nominations for UUSC awards
UUSC is inviting nominations for the 2006 Social Action Leadership Award and Mary-Ella Holst Youth Activist Award. The deadline for nominations is April 15, 2006.

World Water Forum fails to address key issues
The recent Fourth World Water Forum in Mexico City ended with a "closing declaration" that fails to affirm the internationally accepted principle of a human right to water.
