Dave Madan

Dave Madan is a civic and environmental educator in the Boston area.

In 2006, as a member of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps, Madan worked on a variety of service projects, including gutting flooded homes and restoring schools in New Orleans, building hiking trails in an urban forest in Dallas, and teaching at an inner-city summer youth program in Denver.

Beginning in 2007, he performed a year and a half of independent service work in India, which included projects in microfinance, sustainable rural home construction, solar rural lighting, organic farming, rural-cooperative business development, clean water access, and education for students living in slums. In January 2006, he traveled with UUSC on a JustWorks trip to Guatemala, exploring the human-rights implications of fairly traded coffee.

Madan holds a bachelor's degree in business and urban planning from the University of California, Berkeley. He is originally from Cambridge, Mass.
