Dick Campbell

Dick Campbell is UUSC's senior associate for media and public affairs. He develops and leads the organization's media-outreach program, serves as a chief spokesperson for UUSC, implements communications strategies to further enhance the organization's mission, works to place UUSC's key messages in a wide variety of media, and collaborates with other staff members to be effective public representatives for UUSC. He has worked in a number of positions at UUSC in his more than 15 years at UUSC, including as an organizer of the JustWorks initiative.

Before coming to UUSC, Dick was an award-winning journalist for metropolitan-area newspapers in New Jersey and Massachusetts for more than 20 years. His experience includes six years as a State House bureau chief and senior political writer, covering two presidential campaigns and three national political conventions, as well as all branches of state, federal, and local governments. Most recently, he served eight years as editor-in-chief of a Boston-area community newspaper.

He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Cambridge, Mass., and holds a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in American studies from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He has also taught both political science and writing at the college level.
