Environmental Justice Coalition for Water

Environmental Justice Coalition for Water (EJCW) is a network of more than seventy grassroots and intermediary organizations working to empower community members to become strong voices for water justice in their communities. EJCW enables community members to take control of their water resources by participating in water policy, planning and decisions.

UUSC partners with EJCW and other groups in the California Human Right to Water campaign. The Campaign is building the water justice movement in the state as a foundation to change policy and increase access to affordable, safe drinking water in California.

EJCW, UUSC and our allies and partners work in a coalition called the Safe Water Alliance, that successfully passed a package of human right to water bills signed by Governor Brown in October, 2011. The Safe Water Alliance web page and materials on the California campaign can be found on the Brown Miller web pages. Brown Miller is a public relations firm working on health care in California, and they are generously providing the Safe Water Alliance with expert pro bono assistance on the campaign: http://www.brownmillerpr.com/AB685.htm
