Konbit Famn Saj

Konbit Famn Saj was formed by women for women during the political overthrow of Jean Bertrand Aristide in 1991. During that violent period, the military used sexual abuse against women as a political weapon. As a response, and in an effort to protect themselves, women came together to start Konbit Famn Saj. In the aftermath of the earthquake, Konbit Famn Saj assists earthquake-affected women in becoming financially independent.
