NGOs Development Society (NDS)
NGOs Development Society (NDS) in Sindh, Pakistan, was established in 1998 by local political and human-rights activists to support socioeconomic justice for disadvantaged social groups through integrated awareness raising, advocacy, and development initiatives. NDS uses an integrated rights-based approach to move towards its vision of a society free of discrimination, exploitation, and violence because due toof differences of gender, race, religion, and language.
Following the 2010 floods in Pakistan, NDS is working with ethnic minority women in flood-affected villages in northwest Sindh province to recover and develop livelihoods, establish market linkages, organize at the village level, and expand community awareness of women’s rights. In an area of Pakistan where women have traditionally faced some of the worst violence and exploitation, the marginalization of women has put them even further away from recovery. With UUSC support, 445 women are becoming empowered survivors and economic actors.
