LaChonne Walton is the vice president for work life and culture at ITHAKA. She has over 25 years of human resources experience in premier institutions in the not-for-profit sector.

Before joining ITHAKA, Walton served as the vice president for human resources and administration for Jazz at Lincoln Center. In that role, she guided the organization through a variety of leadership transitions, shaped organizational culture, and helped to realize the organization’s strategic priorities, including those for technology, over a seven-year period. Walton was also the first U.S. human resources executive for Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) and served in that leadership role for 10 years. While there, she helped develop AIUSA’s strategic vision for the human resources function.

Walton is a former board member for Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility in New York. She is also a steering committee member for the New York Cultural Institutions Human Resources Group. Walton earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Long Island University and is certified by the Society for Human Resources Management as well as the Management Research Group for strategic leadership development.
