How to Support Immigrant Families in Detention

April 3, 2015

No family should ever be locked up for trying to escape violence. If you’ve heard about the horrible conditions that immigrant families are experiencing when they seek safe refuge at the U.S. border, then you might be wondering how you can help.

Here are three ways for you to get involved and take action to support these families!

  • Share the following graphics on social media to spread awareness and get your friends and family involved.
  • Sponsor a refugee backpack, which provides vital supplies to families being released from detention, for only $25; find out more and sponsor a backpack via the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a UUSC partner in Texas.

UUSC is collaborating closely with RAICES on this issue, and you can expect further updates and actions — so stay tuned!
