UUSC 2014 Get-Together with Fred Pearce

An online conversation on food sovereignty

Sunday, March 30, 2014
4:00–5:00 p.m. (Eastern)

This Get-Together offered a compelling conversation via webinar with several food sovereignty experts, including Wendy Flick, manager of UUSC’s Haiti Program; Chavannes Jean-Baptiste, founder and leader of the Papaye Peasant Movement; and Fred Pearce, author of The Land Grabbers.

As noted on BeaconPress.org, “Fred Pearce is an award-winning former news editor at New Scientist. Currently its environmental and development consultant, he has also written for Audubon, Popular Science, Time, the Boston Globe, and Natural History and writes a regular column for the Guardian. He has been honored as UK environmental journalist of the year, among other awards. His many books include When the Rivers Run Dry, With Speed and Violence, Confessions of an Eco-Sinner, and The Coming Population Crash.”

UUSC’s Get-Together included a live interview and interactive discussion with the author and panel of experts.
