2020 Human Rights Innovation Fellowship: Call for Proposals

Background

The UUSC Human Rights Innovation Fellowship is a one-year $25,000 grant awarded to a charitable organization (sometimes referred to as a non-profit, non-governmental organization, or civil society organization) designed to bring about systemic change by creating, nurturing, or spreading an innovation in human rights. These innovations may be new communications strategies, collaborations, legal strategies, methods of mobilization, technological or financial products or apps, path-breaking applied research, advances in corporate accountability, or other new approaches. The successful proposal will be rights-based, led by directly impacted communities, and provide a new, different, and timely solution.

Call for Letters of Interest

UUSC invites letters of interest (maximum of two pages) from charitable organizations for projects that align with our Protecting Human Rights in Burma initiative, which focuses on partnering with locally-led grassroots groups to protect the rights of ethnic and religious minorities in Burma.

The specific focus of the Innovation Fellowship this year is Collaboration on the Right to Belonging and Inclusion in Burma.

The proposed projects should meet the following criteria:

• Be created by two or more organizations collaborating on the project proposal;
• Be consistent with UUSC’s mission and vision; and
• Be led by impacted community members, in alignment with UUSC’s partnership model.

Eligible projects may involve collaborations between human rights organizations from different ethnic nationalities or demographic groups, innovative communications strategies aimed at domestic audiences, or ideas to leverage religious networks.

How to Apply

To be considered, interested organizations must submit their letter of interest to innovation@uusc.org by December 31, 2019. The letters of interest can be submitted in either English or Burmese and must provide the following information:

• Name of Organizations;
• Contact information for 1-2 staff member/volunteer(s) who will serve as point-person for the proposal;
• Description of proposed project and why it is innovative; this description should include estimates for the number of individuals who will benefit from the project during the year of the fellowship;
• Description of how the proposed project will promote belonging and inclusion in Burma for ethnic and religious minorities;
• Description of the leadership of both organizations;
• Indicate both organizations’ budget size for the current fiscal year.

Timeline and Process

• Deadline for the Initial Letters of Interest: December 31, 2019.
• Review Process: Upon the close of the application period, UUSC will review all letters of interest against the criteria laid out above. UUSC will select a small number of finalists to submit a more detailed proposal (please note this requires use of our grants management database, Fluxx).
• Deadline for UUSC to identify finalists: January 17, 2020.
• Deadline for Detailed Proposal: Once UUSC has selected a finalist, they will need to submit a full grant proposal due to UUSC by February 14, 2020.
• UUSC will review the final proposals and select the winning project by March 16, 2020.

ယူယူအက်စ်စီ သည် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအတွင်းရှိ တိုင်းရင်းသားနှင့် ဘာသာရေးလူနည်းစုများ၏ အခွင့်အ ရေးများကို အကာအကွယ်ပေးရန် ဒေသခံလူထုများဦးဆောင်သည့် အခြေခံအုတ်မြစ်လူမှုအသိုင်းအ ဝိုင်းအုပ်စု များနှင့် မိတ်ဖက်ပူးပေါင်းလုပ်ဆောင်ခြင်းကို ဦးတည်သည့် ၄င်းတို့၏ Protecting Human Rights in Burma မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင်း လူ့အခွင့်အရေး ကာကွယ်ရေး လှုပ်ရှားဆောင်ရွက်မှု နှင့် ကိုက်ညီသော စီမံကိန်းများအတွက် ပရဟိတအဖွဲ့အစည်းများထံမှ (အများဆုံး ၂ မျက်နှာစာရှိ) စိတ်ဝင်စားကြောင်းအဆိုပြုစာများလျှောက်ထားရန် ဖိတ်ခေါ်အပ်ပါသည်။

ယခုနှစ်အတွက် တီထွင်ကြံဆမှု မိတ်ဖက်လုပ်ဆောင်ခြင်း ၏အဓိက ဦးတည်မှုသည် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအ တွင်း ရပိုင်ခွင့်များပိုင်ဆိုင်ခွင့် နှင့် အကျုံးဝင်ပါဝင်နိုင်ခွင့် အတွက် ပူးပေါင်းဆောင်ရွက်ခြင်း ဖြစ် သည်။

အဆိုပြုသော လျှောက်လွှာများသည် အောက်ပါသတ်မှတ်ချက်များနှင့် ကိုက်ညီရမည်ဖြစ်သည် –

• စီမံကိန်းလျှောက်လွှာအတွက် ၂ ခု သို့မဟုတ် ၂ခုထက်ပိုသော အဖွဲ့အစည်းများမှ ပူးပေါင်း ရေးသားလျှောက်ထားသည်။
• ယူယူအက်စ်စီ၏ မျှော်မှန်းချက်နှင့် ရည်မှန်းချက်များ (mission and vision) နှင့် ကိုက်ညီ သည်။
• ယူယူအက်စ်စီ၏ မိတ်ဖက်ပါတနာလက်တွဲခြင်း စံပုံစံ နှင့်အညီဖြစ်ပြီး အကျိုးသက်ရောက်ခံ ရသော လူမှုအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းဝင်များမှ ဦးဆောင်သည်။

လျှောက်ထားနိုင်သော စီမံကိန်းများတွင် အမျိုးမျိုးသော တိုင်းရင်းသားနိုင်ငံသားများ သို့မဟုတ် နောက်ခံအနေအထားများရှိ အုပ်စုများမှ လူ့အခွင့်အရေးအဖွဲ့အစည်းများအကြား ပူးပေါင်းလုပ် ဆောင်ခြင်း၊ ပြည်တွင်း  ပရိသတ်များကို ဦးတည်သည့် တီထွင်ဆန်းသစ်သော ဆက်သွယ်ဆက်ဆံ ရေးဆိုင်ရာ မဟာဗျူဟာများ သို့မဟုတ် ဘာသာရေးဆိုင်ရာကွန်ယက်များအား သဟဇာတဖြစ် အောင် ထိန်းညှိပေးရန် အတွေးအခေါ်များ စသည်တို့ပါဝင်နိုင်သည်။

မည်သို့လျှောက်ထားရမည်

စိတ်ဝင်စားသောအဖွဲ့အစည်းများသည် ထည့်သွင်းအစဥ်းစားခံနိုင်ရန် ၄င်းတို့၏စိတ်ဝင်စားအ ကြောင်းအဆိုပြုစာများကို innovation@uusc.org သို့လိပ်မူပြီး ၂၀၁၉ ခုနှစ် ဒီဇင်ဘာလ ၃၁ ရက်နေ့အမှီ ပေးပို့လျှောက်ထားရမည်ဖြစ်သည်။ စိတ်ဝင်စားကြောင်းအဆိုပြုစာများကို မြန်မာ ဘာသာ သို့မဟုတ် အင်္ဂလိပ် ဘာသာဖြင့်ရေးသားလျှောက်ထားနိုင်ပြီး အောက်ပါအကြောင်းအရာ များပါဝင်ရမည်ဖြစ်သည် –

• အဖွဲ့အစည်းများ၏ အမည်
• အဆိုပြုလွှာအတွက် အဓိကဆက်သွယ်ရန် ပုဂ္ဂိုလ်များအဖြစ်ဆောင်ရွက်မည့် ဝန်ထမ်း/စေ တနာ့ဝန်ထမ်း(များ) ၁ဦး-၂ဦး တို့၏ဆက်သွယ်ရန် အချက်အလက်များ
• အဆိုပြုသောစီမံကိန်း၏ အကြောင်းအရာဖော်ပြချက်နှင့် ၄င်းသည်အဘယ်ကြောင့် တီထွင် ဆန်းသစ်ကြောင်း။ ယင်းဖော်ပြချက်တွင် မိတ်ဖက်ဆောင်ရွက်သည့် နှစ်ကာလအတွင်း စီမံ ကိန်းမှ အကျိုးပြုမည့် တစ်သီးပုဂ္ဂလလူဦးရေ ခန့်မှန်းအရေအတွက်ကို ထည့်သွင်းဖော်ပြ သင့်သည်။
• အဆိုပြုသောစီမံကိန်းသည် တိုင်းရင်းသားနှင့် ဘာသာရေးဆိုင်ရာလူနည်းစုများအတွက် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအတွင်း ရပိုင်ခွင့်များပိုင်ဆိုင်ရေးနှင့် အားလုံးအကျုံးဝင်ပါဝင်နိုင်ရေးတို့ကိုမည်သို့ မြှင့်တင်ပေးမည်ကို ဖော်ပြချက်
• အဖွဲ့အစည်းနှစ်ဖွဲ့လုံး၏ ဦးဆောင်မှုအကြောင်း ဖော်ပြချက်
• လက်ရှိ ဘဏ္ဍာရေးနှစ်အတွက် အဖွဲ့အစည်းနှစ်ရပ်လုံး၏ ရသုံးမှန်းချေ ဘတ်ဂျတ် ပမာဏ ကိုဖော်ပြပါ။

• ကနဦး စိတ်ဝင်စားကြောင်းအဆိုပြုစာလျှောက်ထားရန်အတွက် နောက်ဆုံးရက်သတ်မှတ် ချက် – ၂၀၁၉ ခုနှစ်၊ ဒီဇင်ဘာလ ၃၁ ရက်နေ့ ။
• အကဲဖြတ် ဖြစ်စဥ် – လျှောက်ထားရမည့် ကာလပြီးဆုံးသည်နှင့် ယူယူအက်စ်စီသည် လျှောက်ထားလာသော စိတ်ဝင်စားကြောင်းအဆိုပြုစာများကို အထက်တွင်ဖော်ပြထား​ သော စံနှုန်းသတ်မှတ်ချက်များဖြင့် သုံးသပ်စိစစ်သွားမည်ဖြစ်သည်။ ယူယူအက်စ်စီမှ ဇကာ တင် လျှောက်ထားသူအချို့တို့ကို ရွေးချယ်ပြီး ပိုမိုအသေးစိတ်ရေးသားဖော်ပြထားသော လျှောက်လွှာများဖြင့် အဆိုပြုလျှောက်ထားစေမည်ဖြစ်သည် (ဤတွင် ယူယူအက်စ်စီ၏ ရန်ပုံငွေစီမံခန့်ခွဲရေးဆိုင်ရာ ဒေတာဘေ့စ်, Fluxx ကိုအသုံးပြုရန်လိုအပ်သည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း သတိပြုပါ။)

• ယူယူအက်စ်စီသည် နောက်ဆုံးအဆိုပြုလျှောက်ထားလွှာများကို စိစစ်သုံးသပ်ပြီး ရန်ပုံငွေ အနိုင်ရအောင်မြင်သူများကို ၂၀၂၀ ခုနှစ်၊ မတ်လ ၁၆ ရက်နေ့ တွင် ရွေးချယ်ပေးသွားမည် ဖြစ်သည်။
