What is Human Rights Day?
On December 10, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly established the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document enshrines the inalienable rights of every human being, including freedom, personhood, asylum, education, and other essential liberties. Human Rights Day is observed around the world to commemorate the anniversary of this declaration. UUSC marks Human Rights Day with an annual teach-in as we continue to pursue a future in which these inalienable rights are fully realized.
