In spite of court rulings and global outrage, children are still being separated from their families and detained at the U.S. border. UUSC supporters and thousands of advocates around the country have taken action to oppose these policies, yet the administration is refusing to change course. Now, it is in Congress’s hands to fill the void of moral leadership.
Our Members of Congress can act to keep migrant families together and free from detention. Specifically, they should support and enact laws to:
- Reunite every family that has been separated.
- Shut down facilities being used to detain kids and prevent the construction of new ones.
- Bar ICE from being able to use Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) data to target the sponsors of unaccompanied children.
