Coco Maceren

Associate for Communications and Research

Coco Maceren joined UUSC in January 2019 as the Associate for Communications and Research. She provides administrative support for the Research and Strategic Communications teams, and also assists with communications including media relations, social media engagement, and content creation.

For three years, Coco worked as a lifestyle journalist for one of the Philippines’ newspapers. After realizing that she wanted a more global perspective, she moved from the Philippines to Boston to pursue a higher education. Here, she became active in hackathons and had an interest in working with nonprofits that improve the lives of people facing oppression. It was her move between countries that kindled her desire for social justice.

Coco earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from De La Salle University in Manila and her Master of Science in International Marketing from Hult International Business School in Cambridge, MA.
