Senior Partnership Officer for Migrant Justice

Lindsey Hoemann joined UUSC in April 2020 as the Senior Partnership Officer for Migrant Justice, working with grassroots organizations in Central America, Mexico, and the United States. By fostering relationships between organizations and communities, she focuses on supporting shelters and those who defend the right to migrate, in addition to those engaged in sustainable community development to protect the right to stay home.

Lindsey comes to UUSC after more than eight years working in migration and human rights in Mexico. Her previous initiatives include developing education capacity-building workshops for human rights defenders around the country, accompaniment work with Central American migrants in transit, serving as a guest lecturer on language justice, and creating a multilingual justice workshop series with Indigenous community interpreters.

Lindsey did her undergraduate work in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Nebraska, holds a graduate degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, and a Certificate in Migration and Governance from the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas in Mexico City.

She currently lives in Boston, spending as much quality time with her bike and other people’s pets as possible.
