As president of Fenn Communications Group, Peter Fenn has worked in over 300 political campaigns, from president to mayor, and represents a number of Fortune 500 companies. The Hill newspaper called the firm “one of the premier communications shops;” Roll Call calls them a “media consulting powerhouse.”
Prior to forming his firm, Fenn was the first Executive Director of the political action committee “Democrats for the 80’s,” and served on the staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee and as Washington Chief of Staff for Senator Frank Church. More recently, Fenn served as a surrogate spokesperson on cable news programs for Gore 2000, Kerry in 2004, and in the general election for Obama 2008.
Fenn has consulted overseas for the Agency for International Development and the National Endowment for Democracy. He has produced television programs in Russia, Bosnia, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. His writing and producing have earned him Telly Awards, Summit Awards, Vision Awards, and the award from PRNews for the Best Public Service Ad Campaign of 2005.
Fenn has a B.A. from Macalester College, where he was President of the Alumni Association and where he served on the Board of Trustees. He holds a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California, and has been an Adjunct Professor at George Washington’s Graduate School of Political Management since 1995. Fenn appears frequently as a TV commentator on the major networks and on cable news shows.
