Shay A. Stewart-Willis joined UUSC in 2024 as the Content Creator. They write, design, and produce content supporting the work of UUSC and organizational partners.
Shay began their career by founding a social-justice oriented theater. Serving in both the acting company and communications department, it was here that Shay found their passion and aptitude for mission-driven marketing. Shay went on to work as an educational content creator for the Atlanta History Center, specializing in video content about American civil rights. They then became the Director of Communication for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta, radically modernizing the organization’s visual branding.
In addition to their work as a communications professional, Shay is a poet, illustrator, and performer. Shay’s full length poetry collection was nominated for Georgia Author of the Year, and videos of their work have garnered over 5 million views. They live in Atlanta, Georgia and hold a bachelor’s degree in Theatre. Shay is currently earning a master’s degree in Strategic Communication from Agnes Scott College.
