Make Your Gift to UUSC Match This Giving Tuesday

Take action for human rights this Giving Tuesday: donate to UUSC and help support those in need.

By Eric Grignol on December 2, 2019

Today is the biggest philanthropic day of the year — a time where we come together globally to fuel the causes we care most about.

I hope UUSC is one of the nonprofits you’ll be supporting today. Over the past decade that I’ve been on staff at UUSC, I’ve seen the powerful results that comes from our model of advancing grassroots solutions — it truly makes lasting change in the world and transforms lives for the better.

But grassroots solutions rely on grassroots funding. Our members and supporters have always come through when we need it most — and we are so thankful that you continually choose UUSC as one way to live out your values for social justice in the world.

And today offers a perfect opportunity to double your impact for justice, because of a special Giving Tuesday Match — a generous donor has agreed to match every gift dollar-for-dollar through midnight tonight.

With your generous gift, here are some examples of the things we can achieve together:

  • Your gift of $25 helps our partner Freedom for Immigrants provide a free half-hour phone call for migrants held in the Otay Mesa federal detention center so they can connect with their loved ones.
  • Your gift of $40 provides a meal and a safe place to stay for a family at our partner Espacio Migrante’s newly constructed shelter in Tijuana.
  • Your gift of $75 helps adolescents deported to Guatemala receive physical and mental health services alongside educational support and vocational training from our partner Asociación Pop No’j to ensure their reintegration back into the community.
  • Your gift of $125 helps our partner Asylum Access Mexico offer legal consultation, representation, and documentation services for an immigrant applying to receive asylum in Mexico.
