April Nishimura has deep experience in non-profit management and community engagement. Most recently, April directed racial equity efforts for the Puyallup Watershed Initiative, a social and environmental nonprofit in Washington state. Prior to this, April directed a grassroots nonprofit that developed the leadership of LGBTQ communities of color. She has a proven history of successfully engaging regional and national networks in addition to helping to form nonprofits boards. April holds an MBA in Nonprofit Management and an MA in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University, as well as a BA in International Studies from the University of Washington.
