Programs Department Coordinator

Noemi Uribe (they/she) joined UUSC in October 2023 as the Programs Department Coordinator where they support, coordinate, and ensure the smooth operation of the Programs, Advocacy and Action (PAA) department and leadership team.

Noemi began their career as a Policy and Project Coordinator at the non-profit organization Health Care For All in Boston, MA, where they coordinated the Children’s Health Access Coalition and the Oral Health Advocacy Taskforce. The work focused on advocating to expand quality care for children and youth regardless of immigration status, as well as expand oral health coverage for people receiving MassHealth, Massachusetts health insurance program. This led Noemi to apply to become a commissioner for the state on the MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth, where they have actively participated on a volunteer basis as a vice-chair and now co-chair. They most recently worked at Mathematica, inc. as an Advisory Services Analyst focusing on data analysis and health equity work across the country.

Noemi received their undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University in Health Science: Public Health and a minor in Comparative Religious Studies. They also hold a master’s in public health from Boston University School of Public Health on human rights and social justice. They are currently pursuing a master’s in theological studies from Boston University School of Theology with an emphasis on Indigenous spiritualities and bridging the gap between public health and religion.
