Torture Survivors Week

Today, June 26, is the U.N. International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. Juan Mendez, the U.N. special rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhumane, and degrading treatment or punishment, spoke to survivors of torture this week at the 17th annual June Survivors Week put on by the Torture Abolition and Survivors Support Coalition, a UUSC partner, in Washington, D.C.
