Te Toa Matoa

Advocating and raising awareness to ensure people with disabilities are included in all aspects of life and enjoy their full human rights in the Pacific island nation of Kiribati.

LOCATION: Nanikaai, Kiribati

Te Toa Matoa (TTM) was established to raise awareness and advocate for the meaningful inclusion of people with disabilities in government policies and within Kiribati’s society. Its members demand full recognition of their rights as people with disabilities and to exercise their human rights just as much as people without disabilities.

With UUSC’s partnership, TTM is working to build the capacity of TTM board members, the resource team, branches, and staff to advocate mainstream disability issues and promote disability inclusion in Kiribati’s climate change policy.
