Karen Human Rights Group

Promoting human rights through programming and activities across Burma’s Kayah State.

The Karen Human Rights Group (KnHRG) is a Karenni-led grassroots human rights organization that was founded in 2016. It operates in all seven townships in Kayah State and portions of Kayan State, Burma. KnHRG was created by a multitude of communities including natives, youth, women activists, land issue activists, and community development specialists.

The organization promotes human rights via several programs. The Human Rights Promotion program aims to increase awareness through holding trainings across the region. UUSC’s support helps the organization increase its staff capacity and engage in more advocacy activities.
