UUSC Statement on U.S. Military Action and Forced Regime Change in Venezuela
Today, our thoughts are with the people of Venezuela who are facing sudden instability, uncertainty, and violence because of the recent actions of the Trump administration.
UUSC is deeply concerned by our government’s increasing aggression and foreign interference. We join with the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) in condemning U.S. military strikes against Venezuela.
We are also reminded that our partners around the world serve as a counterpoint to abuses of power by building alternative systems and communities of care in the wake of increasing militarism.
UUSC urges our elected leaders to follow their example by pursuing peace and upholding human rights and international law.
