How we respond

UUSC Resistance Network

We mobilize Unitarian Universalists and people of conscience to take rapid, coordinated action to defend civil liberties and counter authoritarianism. UUSC uplifts grassroots-led campaigns for justice through petitions, storytelling, and resources sharing. United, we move in solidarity with those on the front lines of resistance work.

Rapid response and community protection grants

We provide flexible funding to grassroots partners confronting urgent threats — whether fighting digital surveillance, defending transgender people’s right to safety, or protecting the right to protest. We provide resources to partners who are among affected communities themselves. Those closest to the work are best equipped to respond quickly to shifting social and political conditions.

Raising our voices at the United Nations

As the new home for the UU@UN, UUSC is advancing global justice at the highest levels. We support grassroots partners to engage directly with international bodies like the UN Human Rights Council, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Parties, and the International Court of Justice — amplifying their calls for justice and accountability, climate action, migrant rights, and Indigenous sovereignty.
