Migration is a human right. At UUSC, we believe all people have the right to migrate and the right to stay where they’ve established their home, livelihood, and community. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) and their militarized terror fly in the face of these fundamental human rights.

The widespread brutality of ICE, other federal agencies, and the Trump administration is no accident. It is the product of a system designed to degrade and dehumanize our neighbors. Authoritarian forces thrive when the public feels afraid and powerless.

Each day, our collaboration with global grassroots partners and fellow Unitarian Universalist organizations demonstrates the magnitude of collective power. Even when facing horrific, systemic violence, we can make a difference when we band together.

To harness that collective power, leaders of UU and UU-affiliated organizations have created the UU Solidarity Initiative.  UUSC is grateful to be a part of this coordinated effort which provides resources and opportunities to build solidarity with immigrant communities who are under attack.

Update as of 02/09/2026

We have momentum, and we are using it. Last week, more than 1,500 people joined the National UU Week of Action led by UU State Action Networks in collaboration with the UU Solidarity Initiative. People asked for more, so we are extending the week of action for a second week. These virtual Action Hours are an immediate way to make an impact.

Monday, February 9, 2026 8:00 PM – 9:15 PM ET

Since May of 2020, North Carolina UUs and friends have gathered on Fridays to take action and experience the joy and power of community. Take action on the issues impacting our country.

Take action today to live your values, build solidarity, and make an impact. Here are four resources to get you started or to share with your community:

A toolkit built for sustained organizing, with strategies to identify advocacy pressure points and roles your community can hold over time.

Side With Love has created a Minnesota Resource Kit to help Unitarian Universalists and allies respond with clarity, courage, and fierce love. This toolkit gathers trusted reporting, local immigrant justice organizations, organizing and spiritual resources, calls to action, trainings, and guidance for how we understand and message about this moment

Check out this reporting on what preparedness looks like when enforcement    threats feel immediate. Learn how faith groups can organize care, rapid response,  and protection.

Find tools shaped by directly impacted people to strengthen inside-outside organizing against detention. Go beyond signing petitions and get to know people who are directly impacted by the unjust systems we are trying to replace, and help create compassionate and reparative alternatives.

Looking for even more resources? Check out our “Resource Hub” with more  learning opportunities related to justice and advocacy.

Stay connected and subscribe to email updates from the UU Solidarity Initiative and UUSC’s Resistance Network for urgent actions and advocacy opportunities.
