Why give to UUSC?

For over 85 years, UUSC has worked to
advance human rights alongside communities impacted by injustice.

Your generosity supports grassroots organizers who are challenging injustice and building a better world. There is so much work to do, and together, we will do it!

Maintaining a four-star Charity Navigator rating for over a decade, UUSC is proud to be a trustworthy, transparent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. As such, your donations are tax-deductible. UUSC’s Tax ID is 04-6186012.

Membership and impact

Signal your commitment to human rights and become a UUSC member with a gift in any amount. Donors who contribute $150 or more are eligible to have their generosity doubled by a matching gift from the UU Congregation at Shelter Rock in Manhasset, N.Y.! When you join alongside our community of nearly 30,000 human rights defenders who share your values, you’ll sustain our urgent advocacy and grantmaking work into the future.

Nearly all of our members are individuals or families. UUSC is accountable to you, not to corporations or governments. As a member, you’ll receive regular updates on your generosity at work through action alerts and a $40 gift includes subscription to our print newsletter, Rights Now.

I’m a Unitarian Universalist. Don’t contributions to my church support UUSC?

UUSC is an independent nonprofit agency. The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is the denominational organization for UU congregations. UUSC is an affiliate of the UUA, but we do not receive UUA funding. Some congregations make contributions to UUSC, but contributing to the congregation does not make individuals members of, or donors to, UUSC.

How can I request a guest speaker at a congregational or philanthropic event?

Please call 800-388-3920 or email development@uusc.org.
