Your vote is your voice. Voting is one of the key tools in our toolboxes to dismantle oppressive systems. But the current administration wants to take our power from us because they know that when voters show up to the polls, humanity wins. Many members of Congress want to pass the SAVE Act to avoid answering to the American people for aiding the Trump administration’s crimes against humanity.
The SAVE Act 2.0 bills will add unreasonable requirements to voters. Overall, the SAVE Act bills aim to:
- Make it harder to vote: These proposals may disenfranchise millions of eligible voters from participating in upcoming elections. Think midterms!
- Make it harder to administer elections: These proposals require major and immediate changes to local operations, with neither a grace period nor funding for implementation.
At a time when ICE is using racial profiling to target Black and Brown communities, when the Secretary of Homeland Security talks about “making sure the right people vote,” and when one of Trump’s closest advisors is calling for the deployment of ICE to polling locations, it’s critical that we rise up to stop them.
That’s why partners across UU justice movements are organizing a series of national actions this week, giving our communities multiple ways to rise together and defend the freedom to vote. When we disrupt business as usual for the ruling class, it gets their attention more than anything. Help us jam the phone lines of key Senator’s phone lines by signing up here!

Come together with fellow immigrant justice advocates to build community and connections. We’ll also be closing out our days of action to stop the SAVE Act.
Proposed Rule For Asylum Seekers
The widespread brutality of ICE, other federal agencies, and the Trump administration is no accident. It is the product of a system designed to degrade and dehumanize our neighbors. Authoritarian forces thrive when the public feels afraid and powerless.
The Trump administration has proposed a new rule for asylum seeker work permits that would leave even more immigrants vulnerable to the mass deportation machine. We have 60 days to submit as many unique public comments in order to loudly and clearly tell the Trump administration: immigrants are welcome here.
Look out for more information on how you can submit these public comments and save the date for a campaign launch on March 18 and action hour on March 25th!
