UUSC at Women Deliver 2026

While we amplify Pacific-led voices on climate loss and uplift feminist resilience, we also urge governments to decolonize climate finance

Women Deliver 2026, hosted in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia, is one of the world’s largest conferences on gender equality and the health, rights, and well-being of diverse women and girls to be held in the Pacific region. As noted in their latest report, Women Deliver (WD) believes that “convenings have the power to generate narratives that shift public opinion, fuel movements, and shape policy, from global forums to local governments.” This unique space is where frontline activists share their lived experience alongside global policymakers. Conversations and connections here also challenge human rights funders and donors to move beyond programmatic silos toward genuinely collaborative, movement-aligned resourcing in a time of urgency.

The first conference was held in 2007, and six conferences have since united 30,000 global leaders. This will be the second WD conference that UUSC is excited to join in response to the global resourcing crisis affecting women. Past convenings have surfaced urgent calls for proactive funding for climate-forced displacement, greater funder transparency, and the recognition of displaced and stateless people.

This year, we are attending in solidarity with Pacific Rising, a coalition of grassroots organizations from Fiji, the Marshall Islands, the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (PNG), and Kiribati, to challenge the systems driving climate change and demand that funding flow directly to frontline communities. This collective centers non-economic loss and damage (NELD): the destruction of sacred sites, the erosion of Indigenous languages, and the displacement of cultural identity that no financial payment can fully repair and compensate.

We are dedicated to creating a world where every girl and woman has full control over her bodily autonomy, human rights, and life. Global gender rights protections must continue to receive sustained funding and representation in global policymaking.
