Hurricane Milton Impacts and Beyond

As Floridians endure Hurricane Milton and as communities in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee continue the long process of recovery in the wake of Hurricane Helene, UUSC, its staff, and members are keenly aware of the debilitating impacts storms like this have on local communities—both in the immediate aftermath and in the medium- and long-terms.

We strongly encourage those with the means and motivation to donate to the UUA’s Disaster Relief Fund, to support UU congregations and their community partners as they recover from the storm’s impacts. Your donations will go a long way to resource the resilience, recovery, and rebuilding efforts of our beloved UU congregations, communities, and collaborators in impacted areas.

We also want to let you know that UUSC will be making rapid response grants to our existing partners in Florida and North Carolina to help with recovery efforts. UUSC is working with global partners on the frontlines of the climate crisis, building a rights-based approach for communities facing forcible displacement. We encourage you to follow and support our work.
