Support for the People of Burma (Myanmar) in the Wake of 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake
On March 28, 2025, a catastrophic 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Burma (Myanmar). Millions of people are in urgent need of assistance — including emergency medical care, safe shelter, clean water, food, and other essential services.
UUSC is heartbroken to hear about the devastation and loss of life resulting from this disaster, and we are in contact with our partners in the region to provide for any immediate and ongoing needs.
Our emergency response fund to support UUSC’s relief efforts in Burma is the most nimble, flexible, and effective way to ensure UUSC is able to support communities in recovering from disasters. Please give today.
Given the U.S. government’s recent cuts to USAID and international relief funding, UUSC’s humanitarian crisis support at this time is even more critical now.
As we learn more about the extent of the devastation and affected areas, we will update our members on how they can continue to show solidarity with the people of Burma and support ongoing recovery efforts.
